Interference Technology (ITEM) once again features Will Turner’s paper, detailing how the increasing use of electronics to control so many aspects of modern life, from smart grids to driverless cars, means that Intentional Electromagnetic Interference (IEMI) is an ever growing threat.

With the increasing use of electronics to control every aspect of modern life, from smart grids to driverless cars, Intentional ElectroMagnetic Interference (IEMI) is a growing threat. William Turner, Senior Design Engineer, MPE, explains.
In direct response to requests from industry, during the recent Amerem conference which took place in New Mexico, USA, Will Turner of MPE presented a paper on the design of high current HEMP filters for reliability.
ITEM publishes article reporting MPE’s 1200A single-line HEMP filter for power cables of critical infrastructure installations.
Following on from the independant MIL-STD-188-125-1 short (E1) pulse acceptance PCI testing carried out by Jaxon, USA and the successful installation of multiple 1200A units on site, MPE have now published a datasheet for its 1200A single line HEMP filter solution.
The current range of MPE HEMP filters was expanded further with the introduction of 1200A variants.
